You guessed it, movement and natural curls are back for 2021 and I could not be more excited! Clients will be looking to add some choppy layers and textured cuts to give different dimensions and movement throughout their look, others will embrace their natural curls and look to make them bigger and beautiful once more.

For those with shorter styles it’s time to get creative. Sharp cuts with strong base lines will be super popular featuring lots of texture throughout the top, back and sides.

Per la seconda serata del Festival di Sanremo 2021 Achille Lauro ha reso omaggio a Mina sfoggiando un beauty look ispirato alla cantante, in occasione della sua seconda performance sul palco del Teatro Ariston. Dopo la celebrazione del glam rock, che Lauro ha fatto alla prima serata di Sanremo 2021, l'artista ospite della 71ª edizione del Festival ha voluto omaggiare una delle più grandi voci italiane di tutti i tempi.
Prendendo spunto da alcune delle foto più famose di Mina, realizzate negli anni '80 da Mario Balletti, Lauro si è rifatto il look imitando alla perfezione il make-up languido della cantante e la sua inconfondibile chioma rossa contenuta in una lunghissima treccia.
«Tributo a Mina, donna dal vero animo Rock 'N Roll, e all'iconica foto scattata da Mauro Balletti nel 1984», ha scritto Achille Lauro su Instagram condividendo una serie di foto con il “look Mina”. Con il post Lauro ha condiviso un nuovo testo poetico: «Trasgressione che entra nelle case di mezza America. Esplicito invito a lasciarsi andare. Una vecchia chiesa indignata per il credo dell'irriverenza. Nuovo tempio notturno del giovane e del proibito. È tempo di gioco. Demonio, divinità, jukebox tappezzati di chiodi. Unione rituale con gli altri in un solo corpo danzante. Carne che chiede carne. Uragano nei desideri sessuali, scossa nel perbenismo familiare, promessa di piacere. Il sacro vincolo del godimento. Godere è un obbligo. Dio benedica chi gode.»
Sul palco di Sanremo 2021, Achille Lauro ha presentato il "look Mina" in contrasto con un outfit sartoriale firmato Gucci composto da un completo a tre pezzi grigio con giacca a un bottone e revers a lancia, gilet, camicia-pettorina bianca, pantaloni palazzo, boutonnière in seta color malva, booties a tacco alto grigi. A completare il look, un anello leone in oro bianco 18kt, acquamarina e diamanti. L'artista si è esibito sulle note del brano Bam Bam Twist, con una performance danzante degli attori Francesca Barra e Claudio Santamaria.

With worrying economic predictions, we are heading for unprecedented times, but working and living through a recession isn’t new for Jamie Brooks. Co-founder of Brooks & Brooks, London, has lived through five recessions, run a business through the financial crash of 2008 and trained as a hairdresser during Black Wednesday in the 1990s.
“The last recession was about money; this pandemic is about keeping people apart. This time we are seeing a societal change which is effecting every industry. Post-Covid, we will see a different culture, where people will be less tolerant of packed trains or busy pubs and be more conscious of cleanliness. This is going to become common place so as a business, we need to be ready for a new outlook."
What Jamie learnt in the last recession and how you can use the lessons today:
1 During the last recession, salon business grew as people were looking for an escape – and it’s the same now. They are looking for something away from the doom and gloom so make sure there’s a positive vibe in the salon and every client has a great experience.
2 If you don’t know what you’re doing, your team won’t either. Set out a plan and stick to it – it will be the right thing for your business whatever else is happening.
3 Step back and look at everything – when you’re in the middle of it, it’s easy to make a bad decision.
4 Go back to your core business strengths and values and work by them. Try not to get distracted by everything else.
5 Think carefully about introducing new initiatives such as discounting – don’t do anything you wouldn’t be prepared to do when we get back to ‘normal’.
6 Have a plan B, C and D – if another lockdown was announced, be ready. Follow your instinct and keep moving, don’t stand still.
5 Remember the client is king. With shows and education cancelled, everything is about the salon – the service, the visit, the experience. Get the balance right between restrictions and a pleasurable experience for your clients.
6 It’s a rollercoaster and many people don’t want to be on it! So try and be as normal as possible.

Come già anticipato in un precedente articolo, tra marzo e aprile Ridley Scott ha iniziato le riprese per uno dei film più attesi dell'anno che vede proprio Lady Gaga tra i protagonisti: la star è infatti entrata definitivamente nei panni della dark lady Patrizia Reggiani, mente del delitto Gucci. Tanti e diversi i rumors in questi giorni, perché è tempo di prove sul set (tra Roma, Milano, lago di Como e Firenze) e di definire gli ultimi dettagli. Non sappiamo se il primo “ciak” è stato eseguito, mentre l'hotel dove alloggiano è blindato (Baglioni Hotel Regina), ma in compenso abbiamo avvistato un interessante look di Lady Germanotta caratterizzato da un cappotto cammello firmato Max Mara.
Il capospalla, stretto in vita da una cintura, presenta un taglio midi e le maniche ampie e tagliate che ricordano il volume di una raffinata cappa. Sotto spiccano le scarpe con plateau two tone (nere e bordeaux) e una shopping bag di tessuto (dentro ci sarà il copione?). Ultimi dettagli: il filo di perle al collo e i guanti bianchi che proteggono le mani. So chic!

Uprising is a puzzle in which all the details are previously thought so each piece fits perfectly and works within the whole. Color, with its contrasts and with its subtle gradations; the haircut, with a line drawn to be precisely positioned on hair, and; lastly, drying, which is what gives life and confirms that all pieces are correctly positioned. This is the only way to achieve this architectural and geometric result, in which hair explores its own margins creating surprising silhouettes, unusual textures reinforced by the effect of color and an image that blends hair and hairdressing with art.

La stilista ha dato vita a una collezione che celebra l'heritage del brand proponendolo in una nuova versione che guarda alla sostenibilità. Bellissimi i look realizzati con patchwork di pelle e quelli laser-cut dall'allure romantica.

Si chiama Cristina Fogazzi, ma tutti la conoscono come L' Estetista Cinica. Bresciana, 47 anni, con il suo sarcasmo intelligente ha dato un tocco pink e glam alle routine di bellezza delle donne italiane. Ecco perché ha le sue sembianze la Role Model Barbie 2021 (qui il video: https://www.facebook.com/barbieitaly/videos/3318469111586532/ ).
L’obiettivo è quello d’ispirare bambine e ragazze a celebrare, in occasione della Festa della Donna, la loro unicità e le loro potenzialità. Mattel s’impegna così al Dream Gap Project, un’iniziativa sociale che vuole spronare le più giovani a tenersi stretti i sogni. Il termine si riferisce proprio ad un periodo specifico della crescita in cui di solito l’universo femminile inizia a dubitare delle proprie ambizioni e le ridimensiona.
Finora Barbie ha puntato su oltre 60 modelli di grande empowerment rosa, comprese la ginnasta Gabby Douglas, la cantante Elisa, la modella e body activist Ashley Graham, l’attrice Zendaya e la campionessa paraolimpica Bebe Vio. Tutte loro dimostrano che volere è potere e che crescere può diventare davvero un “gioco da ragazze”, intendendo la frase nell’accezione più progressista, ovviamente. Ecco perché l’esempio de L' Estetista Cinica può contribuire alla campagna in maniera concreta: dall’apertura del centro estetico Bellavera di Milano ad un fatturato da 50 milioni di euro nel 2020, con oltre 40 dipendenti, un libro e il brand Veralab. Seguitissima sui social (800k su Instagram, 300K su Facebook), sta dimostrando non solo che il beauty è un business ma che la vera bellezza consiste nell’accettarsi. La collaborazione con Barbie include seminari nelle scuole elementari e una partnership con l’associazione Bet she can che vuole abbattere gli stereotipi di genere. L’ Estetista Cinica la descrive come motivo di “infinito orgoglio” perché “Per me – dice – la sfida più grande è stata proprio vincere la paura del giudizio degli altri”. Barbie, al primo posto nel mondo come property di giocattoli, continua allora a puntare su Career Dolls e sulla serie Inspiring Women per spronare alla diffusione di valori positivi come l’inclusività.

Crochet takes us back to traditional weaving techniques passed down from mothers to daughters for generations. The abrupt disappearance of this generation of older women, the last weavers, is also the sunset of a world that disappears before our eyes. That is why Anna Barroca pays tribute to them, with a collection that recovers this technique to place it at the dawn of the avant-garde.
Reality forces us to hide, to protect ourselves from others, with masks in an unfortunate carnival. However, in every tiny space, we find a place for freedom.
The face is a piece of crochet through which we breathe and, though it obscures our gaze, it does not prevent us from freeing ourselves through hair, our expansive force, which, with the richness of its fibers, is the fabric of the soul.
Tradition is a woven book that explains the world to us, and sometimes protects us from it. To understand it is to love it, and to love it, to preserve it.
Hair is transformed into a sensitive tissue, which lies in the chiaroscuros to survive, from where it whispers to us that in ambiguity is its true essence: I am everything I want to be.

Un parrucchiere che doveva intervenire nel backstage del Festival di Sanremo, per seguire l'immagine di alcuni cantanti, è stato assassinato.
Il delitto è probabilmente maturato fuori dal giro dal Festival ed è difficile capire la dinamica dell'efferato gesto. Sono in corso indagini.
